Useful tips

Here you will find information about: Electrical appliances, final cleaning, departure etc.

Should any problems occur during the holiday, contrary to expectations, or do you need further information or help from us, don't hesitate to visit Feriehuse Hornbæk or contact us on tel. no. 48 31 73 11.

Electricity meter

tips_elmaaler.jpg

The electricity meter is mostly placed outside the house. In recently built houses the electricity meter may be fitted with a grey metal flap. To read the meter lift the flap a little bit and open. Please note that in Denmark almost all electricity meters have no full stop - so all figures are whole kilowatt hours.

Relay

tips_hfi-relaeer_dk.jpg

The inside switchboard is usually placed on the inside wall opposite the outside electricity meter.

To connect the relay switch the button upwards or turn the button from 0 to 1. It is quite normal that the relay is hard to turn/switch.

Fuses

Power failure may be due to a fuse or the entire fuse group being disconnected.

All fuse groups must stand at 1.

To lock the door / key

tips_laasning_af_doere.jpg

In many houses the door is locked by pushing the handle upwards, after which the key can be turned around. Keys for the mail box etc. are usually to be found in the house.

Hot-water boiler

tips_varmtvandsbeh.jpg

The hot-water boiler is switched on by turning the temperature button to the central position. The heating takes about 30 minutes. If there is no hot water, the safety device against boiling may have been interrupted (works only when the boiler is "on"). Reactivate the safety device by pressing the small button underneath the hot-water boiler. There may also be a separate switch.

Radiators

tips_radiator.jpg

The radiators are turned on by pressing the button from 0 to 1. Use the round button to adjust the temperature. Some radiators are to be turned on by a separate switch. Never cover radiators. In the period from 1st November to 30th April the radiators must be set at 5 degrees C at your departure.

Floor heating

tips_gulvvarme.jpg

The floor heating (little black or grey switch) is usually placed by the floor. Set the thermostat to the central position by using a coin. The heating takes about 24 hours.

Refrigerator

tips_koeleskab.jpg

The refrigerator is switched off at your arrival. The switch may be placed behind the refrigerator, on the wall next to the refrigerator or in a kitchen cupboard. At your arrival switch on the refrigerator and set the thermostat to the central position to obtain the best possible cooling effect from the beginning.

Sauna

tips_sauna.jpg

Never pour water on the sauna stove, as it may cause a short circuit. The sauna is operated by using two buttons: The temperature switch and the time watch. The time watch has two adjustment levels. To use the sauna immediately set the watch in to the first field (1 - 4). By setting the time watch in to the second field (1 - 8) the sauna does not start heating before the watch reaches the number of hours adjusted. The heating takes about 30 minutes. If the sauna does not heat, it may help to push the safety device against boiling (black button or a little hole placed at the operation panel or under the sauna).

Settling of electricity, oil and telephone costs

forb.kuvert1.jpg

At your departure, the consumption of electricity, oil and telephone calls is to be settled according to meter. Therefore, please read the meter(s), note the numbers and enclose the amount in question in the consumption envelope. Leave the envelope in the house, unless anything else is stated. On almost all meters, all numbers are whole kilowatt-hours - no commas are to be put into the number.
