Arrival
The key is handed out from the office or from a key deposit place and can be collected from 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. From 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. the owner of the holiday home has access to the house in order to carry out minor repairs. Moreover, the holiday home must be prepared for the next tenancy during this time. If you expect to arrive very late or later than the day stated on your tenancy agreement, please inform us of this no later than the day before your arrival, as we have to arrange an alternative handing over of the key as well as the adjustment of the preheating (from November to May).Together with the tenancy agreement a road map is forwarded to you. The key deposit place as well as the location of the holiday home is indicated on this road map.
Bedloft
A bed-loft normally has a height of between 70 and 100 cm, and therefore not possible to stand up in the bed-loft. Usually there is no fencing, and there is access to the bed-loft from a steep staircase/ ladder. A bed-loft is not suitable for small children and old or walking-impaired persons. The sleeping places in the bed-loft often consist of foam rubber mattresses.Consumtion
The consumption taxes (see tenancy agreement) are not included in the rental price. The electricity meter is often located outside the holiday home. When you arrive at your holiday home, the welcome card will have already been completed with the meter reading at the start of your holiday. Please transfer the numbers from this card to the consumption form that you received at the key deposit place. The calculation of payment for electricity is carried out via the completion of the consumption form. Upon departure, we kindly ask that you note the final meter reading on the form and return it to our local office. The amount will be deducted from your deposit, which will be refunded via your bank at the latest 3 weeks after the end of the tenancy, providing that all bank details given are correct.
In the case of incomplete or incorrect bank account details, you will receive one statement requesting the correct bank information. Kindly note: refunding of deposits is limited to a period of 5 years. It is the responsibility of the tenant to provide Sol og Strand with the correct bank account details. If the deposit does not cover the total consumption charge, you will be invoiced separately for the extra amount. The price per kWh and electricity-meter steps - in connection with use of e.g. telephone - appears from the first pages of the catalogue, from the house descriptions on the website and from the tenancy agreement. The price for gas, water and oil (if used) may vary.
Further information regarding this can be found on the tenancy agreement, in the house descriptions on the website and on the consumption form. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Please note that the figure shown on the welcome card may differ from that noted on the consumption form. This can be attributed to the preheating of the house (from November to May). As a tenant, you will, however, pay only for the heating. The service work is included in the rental price. This also applies all year round to houses with swimming pool and pre-filled whirlpools (Jacuzzis).
Houses with swimming pools will typically use more electricity because of the necessary health and safety checks of the water quality. All houses with pre-filled whirlpools in which the water is renewed each Saturday, will use electricity for the heating of the water. The servicing of both of the above types is free of charge. As a tenant, you pay only for the heating itself. NB! Most electricity-meters in Denmark have no commas.
All numbers shown represent whole kilowatt-hours - including the last number, which may be shown in red. In holiday homes with swimming pools and/or whirlpools (Jacuzzis), the consumption of electricity is considerably higher than in holiday homes without these facilities. The specific electricity and water consumption does, of course, depend upon the number of persons, the size of the house, the type of facility and the time of year.
Firewood/woodburning stove
If it is not specifically stated in the house description, firewood for the fireplace/ woodburning stove is not included in the rent price. Firewood can be purchased more places by the roadside or at the grocer's shop. Firewood by the holiday home is private property of the owner and may not be used. In some cases it can be used against payment, and if that is the case, it will appear from a notice in the holiday home. You pay directly to the owner and the money for the firewood is left in the house.By extreme winds or stormy weather it may not be possible to use the woodburning stove, as the smoke is pressed back into the chimney. You are only allowed to use newspapers (for the lighting) as well as dry and chemically untreated wood. Superheating of the stove can cause fire risk.
House description
The descriptions of the privately owned holiday homes are worked out from our best conviction. We make reservations for changes as well as misprints and typing errors. The perception of the furniture is rendered individually and depends on the taste of the individual house owner. The ground plans are illustrated as exact as possible, but they are only intended as a guide and deviations regarding the locations of beds, woodburning stove, toilets etc. may arise. In order to maintain the clarity of the ground plan, terraces, basements, first floors etc. are often not illustrated on the ground plan.Radio/TV/satellite dish
All houses are equipped with a radio, but it can be an older model or a transistor. You cannot expect that the TV can receive coded channels, and in some areas it is not possible to receive more than one Danish channel. In addition to this, the number of German TV channels, which can be received through a satellite dish, depends on the receiver of the holiday home. Throughout the season 2006 an exchange of analog to digital channels will take place. Therefore, we cannot inform you of the available channels for the present. However, most German channels are available through a digital receiver.A remote control is not always available.
If the holiday home is equipped with a satellite dish, you are not allowed to change the adjustment of the satellite dish and the receiver. If this prohibition is violated, we will have to order a radio/ TV electrician for the readjustment - on the account of the tenant. By heavy rain or stormy weather the reception via antenna or satellite dish can be substantially reduced. Feriehuse Hornbæk cannot guarantee for the reception of specific satellite programmes.
Site and size
The size (m²) of the holiday home is measured by the outer walls (excl. terrace). Usually the type of site is stated in the description of the house. In most cases the holiday home is situated on a natural site or a dune site, which means that the grass will not be cut. If the holiday home is of a recent date, the site/garden is often not completely laid out, and this can be inconsistent with the type of site, stated in the description.Only rarely does the site have a boundary line (fence, hedge or the like). The size of the site appears from the symbols, but this is not always tantamount to the fact that you can walk all over the site, as it can be planted with trees, bushes etc. Equally, the site can be a part of a dune area, which cannot be marked.
